We are thrilled to announce that Templepatrick Primary School in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, is the proud winner of our outdoor classroom giveaway!  This incredible addition will significantly enhance the school’s outdoor fun and learning experiences.

A Community Effort
The competition was open to all nursery, primary schools, secondary schools, charity, and community groups across Ireland and the UK and valued at £5,000. Templepatrick Primary School's journey to victory began when Judith Uprichard, a P1 teacher at the school, entered the competition on Instagram. She thought the outdoor classroom looked amazing and knew it would be a wonderful addition for the school. 

Enhancing Learning and Play
The goal of the new outdoor classroom is to extend the playground area, promoting outdoor play which is crucial for the students’ development. The school believes in promoting curiosity, creativity, and a connection with nature. These elements are essential in the formative years of education, and the outdoor classroom will be a perfect environment for achieving these goals.

The school plans to integrate the outdoor classroom into the curriculum, particularly for Primary 2 and Primary 3 students. This initiative will provide these young learners with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that complement their indoor education. The presence of an outdoor classroom will offer a unique space where students can engage in activities that encourage exploration and discovery.

Long-Term Impact
Previously, Templepatrick Primary School had no provision for this style of outdoor learning. The introduction of the outdoor classroom marks a significant milestone for the school and will have a positive impact on its educational approach for years to come.
